Measures to extend the life of dental handpieces:

Before use: ensure that the compressed air of the dental chair is water-free and oil-free; ensure that the water of the dental chair is free of impurities; ensure that the air pressure of the dental chair is lower than 40psi, unless the manufacturer has special regulations; ensure that the temperature of the dental handpieces has been restored To room temperature.

Use process: ensure that the air pressure is lower than 40psi; try not to use large-head burs and long burs; do not use too large or too small burs; do not use severely worn burs; do not use burs when the mechanics are polishing (including clinical models And the modification of the restoration) use a high-speed dental handpieces.

After use: rinse the dental handpieces with detergent before sterilization; the sterilization temperature should not exceed 135℃; do not leave the dental handpieces in the disinfection oven overnight; if it is lubricated after sterilization, just add a few drops of lubricating oil.

Weekly maintenance measures: Use phone cleaner to clean the spindle of the push-type dental handpieces.

Bearing replacement: Use an ultrasonic cleaner to clean the dental handpieces shell before installing the bearing; rinse the dental handpieces shell and clean the dental handpieces head after ultrasonic cleaning; replace O-rings, springs, fixing clips and other components in time.

Dental handpieces sterilization steps:

Only the dental handpieces specified by the manufacturer that can be sterilized can be sterilized. The following steps are common general steps, and more importantly, they are maintained and sterilized in accordance with the manufacturer's regulations.

1. After the treatment is over, wipe off the debris outside the dental handpieces before removing the bur, and start the machine to flush the air pipe and water pipe of the dental handpieces.

2. Remove the bur, and then remove the dental handpieces. If the manufacturer recommends ultrasonic cleaning, follow the manufacturer’s instructions to clean the dental handpieces head and the entire dental handpieces, then install the dental handpieces on the dental chair, turn on the machine, and clean the debris in the dental handpieces; if the manufacturer does not recommend ultrasonic cleaning, Wash the dental handpieces with soapy water or detergent under running water.

3. If the dental handpieces needs to be lubricated before heating, use the cleaning agent recommended by the manufacturer to remove the debris inside the dental handpieces and lubricate the dental handpieces. If you do not need to lubricate before heating, use a detergent that does not contain lubricant and clean the dental handpieces according to the manufacturer's instructions. Do not over-lubricate it.

4. Then put the dental handpieces on the dental chair and start the machine to remove the excess lubricant in the dental handpieces to prevent excessive lubricant from accumulating unevenly in the dental handpieces during the heating process. If the manufacturer does not specify otherwise, the bur should be installed when the dental handpieces rotates.

5. Use a damp alcohol cotton ball (not too much alcohol) to wipe the fiber interface and its exterior. Do not use high-concentration solutions to avoid damage.

6. After cleaning and drying the dental handpieces, put it in a paper bag, and sterilize the dental handpieces according to the manufacturer's regulations and the operation routine of the disinfection oven. Store the dental handpieces in a proper place after sterilization, and do not open the closed paper bag before use.

7. Turn on the machine for 20 to 30 seconds before installing the dental handpieces to flush the air and water pipes of the dental chair.
