There are currently 2 viral issues that can impact your health and business, Influenza and Corona virus. The precautions to prevent both are the same.
On 1/20/2020 the CDC announced that Influenza, the common flu, is the worst in decades and just beginning to grow and spread across the country. So far it has infected 15 Million Americans, 140,000 have been hospitalized, and 8200 have died. It is highly contagious and without appropriate precautions, it can spread thru your business, crippling it from the loss of available workers.
On the same day, WHO (World Health Organization) has declared Coronavirus a global health emergency. It is even more contagious or easily transmitted than influenza. To prevent the spread many countries are closing their borders, many cities are quarantined worldwide.
Attached are the state of the art precautionary measures which you can take to prevent the spread of either virus. Keep in mind with both Influenza and Coronavirus, you can infect others for days before you have symptoms, so the preventive measures are valuable even in a healthy workplace. Medical science is confident that CoronaVirus is not airborne. It requires direct contact with an infected person or a surface that the infected person has contaminated by touch, coughing or sneezing, so these are likely correct preventive measures.
Distributing this to all workers, supervisors, and your family will train and educate them on preventive measures and strategies to protect themselves and prevent the spread within the workplace, and between home and the workplace. Influencing your employees to have preventive measures within their home and families will help prevent the spread to your workplace.
The treatment suggestions in the attached documents are effective for influenza. Medical science does not yet know enough about coronavirus to have treatment guidelines. But prevention is predictable with the correct knowledge.
