While the NATO Summit was great, it repeats the same flawed American mentality that wars will be won by weapons alone. Wars are won by the will of the people, but also changing the hearts and minds of the opposing side and allowing the support of the dictator to crumble internally. No one in the US military or perhaps American diplomatic corps has ever explored this basic fact of warfare. To create an opposition within. A resistance. The average Russian needs to hear a new message. That is what is important. If this was a football game, there is one side against the other and each is an enemy of the other. Painting a nation, a people as an enemy is a trap that most societies fall into, unfortunately in Russia, the media brainwashes people into thinking that Ukraine is full of Nazis. The enemy image is what keeps the war going, however, destroying this image from within Russia is key...and unfortunately...people in Washington, DC cannot think outside the building. Many Russians do not support this war. Yet they are prisoners within Russia, eight million of them have Ukrainian heritage. A dictator rules on a house of cards...knock the bottom card and the system crumbles.
