Stepping up my LinkedIn game

Stepping up my LinkedIn game

Monday 8/12/19...

LinkedIn has been my primary strategy for driving business growth over the past few months. Over the past week, I've made some changes to my strategy in an effort to accelerate results.

Last Tuesday, I committed to a daily outreach program, attempting to connect with more people that would be ideal clients. I've tested various filtering techniques using Sales Navigator and the messages I'm using in my connection requests. I have a bunch of spreadsheets in Google Drive that help me track and analyze my results so I can continue to improve my efforts.

I've also increased my posting volume and the messaging is more in synch with my offering. That way, the value I add helps nurture leads towards working with me. So I overhauled my profile to better reflect what I do and whom I help. So now, more people find me, I'm helping them solve a specific challenge, and when they're interested in working with me, it's very clear how I can help.

But there is still a lot more I can be doing. Today, I'm going to shift all this activity into the morning. I want to make this process a habit, so I'll extend my current morning routine. I'll set myself daily goals and do these things in a particular order - that should help me optimize these efforts even further.

Then, I'm going to add more to this. LinkedIn's algorithm encourages engagement, so I need to do more of it. I'll be revisiting the people I've recently connected with to comment on their posts. This should help my content show up more in their feed. Then, I'll comment on people's posts who share a similar audience to me, spreading my posts/comments to an audience I'm trying to myself build.

And finally, introducing myself to new connections to share how I can help. I'd like to build a landing page for this so I can make this touchpoint a softer approach and make it easy for people to do their own research on me.

Last week I made some good progress, this week will be better!

This is an entry from my personal daily journal. I recently left the 9-5 to work for myself - something I've dreamed of for as long as I can remember. It's my hope that these posts inspire anyone looking to do the same or shed some light on what this journey is really like.

Thanks for reading!
