Stepping into the unknown
I am one of the team of three delivering Meeting Life as a Creative Adventure. We are currently running our second programme. We invite the young adult participants to ‘step into the unknown', to do something they have never done before, something that is edgy, needs courage and has a beneficial outcome for others. As a team of catalysts, we have challenged ourselves to do the same thing.
My decision is to announce on this channel that I am going to self-publish a book within the next two months. I have been working on this book for more than ten years and I believe that the prevarication associated with completing it is partly based in my fear of ‘putting it out there’, of the vulnerability of my words, thoughts, feelings and experiences being in print for anyone to see. So, making this announcement makes publication a commitment, and has taken courage. The title of the book is ‘Families: revealing the hidden dynamics of parenting’ and it contains activities for parents and for families to try together as well as stories from my life and others. The text is beautifully designed by Sally Cornwell and contains photographs and illustrations.
I am committing to giving away a copy of the book when it is published to the first ten people who contact me as a result of this post. In addition, I will donate ten times the price of the book to Project Gambia, an early years’ charity set up by my late friend and colleague, Rosemary Albone.
Please contact me if you are interested in my book. The first ten will receive a free copy.

4 年Too late to be one of your first ten, Jane. But I’m thrilled to hear you’re doing this - congratulations for challenging yourself to do what you’re challenging others to do, that’s inspiring! - and would love to read your book once it’s published :)
