Stepping Out of the Boardroom and Into the Kitchen
I am excited to be stepping out of the boardroom to join top chefs for a charity cook off, helping raise funds to fight hunger and homelessness. On March 7th I will be donning an apron and putting on oven mitts for leading food rescue charity, OzHarvest.
I love to cook, but most of all I love getting our team of awesome colleagues involved in challenges that encourage teamwork, collaboration and a positive attitude of making it happen! With this in mind, when the opportunity arose to take part in this year’s CEO CookOff for OzHarest, I gladly accepted.
The CookOff is a fantastic initiative from the team at OzHarvest to bring together over 100 Business Leaders and top chefs across the country to be able to make a real difference in the Australian community. With a BHAG (Big Hairy Audacious Goal) to raise over $1.5 million and provide over 3,000,000 meals to vulnerable Aussies in need, we are gearing up for a fantastic challenge.
As the Chief Executive Officer at JCurve Solutions I provide context and direction to a team of talented individuals that are passionate about empowering growth for small businesses. We spend our days focusing on providing the right ingredients for small business; simplifying business complexity by streamlining and automating business operations. Hopefully applying a similar process-driven approach to the CookOff will help me stay in control under pressure and perhaps further grow my culinary skills.
Outside of corporate life I have a passion for taking over the kitchen. Every dish I create is a unique, never to be repeated experience because I never follow a recipe – an abundance of chillies seems to be the only common factor in my creations!
Our team at JCurve is enthusiastic about getting together to give something back to the community and having some fun in the process. We are highly motivated to provide more than 20,000 meals by raising over $10,000, supporting the fantastic job that the team at OzHarvest carry out in feeding Australians who need a helping hand.
Please join us in our fundraising efforts at the CEO CookOff for OzHarvest by making a donation to this great cause here.
I will look forward to sharing the CookOff stories with you! I’m sure the only bad presentation will be my flour covered apron, the only flames coming from the wood-fired over and the only thing on the chopping block some fresh Australian produce. Well, fingers crossed anyway!
