When you REALLY think about it, why are you excited about your New Years Resolutions?
What's so different about the clock ticking us into 2023 that makes this week, this month, this season so different than a few days ago?
It's the same you, it's the same home, it's the same job, the same habits and the same context.
But, somehow, it DOES feel different.
Ultimately, what IS different right now is your realization that you've FINALLY decided to prioritize yourself among all of the other things you've got on your list.
You've known that you needed or wanted to say YES to your next level of wellness.
That's ultimately what creates the excitement. Putting your own self care at the top of your TO-DO list. As a non-negotiable.
Maybe you're already jammin' it with your nutrition, sleep, stress management and workouts and your stepping up to reach some mega athletic goal.
Or, maybe you're just finally saying YES to yourself because so many other things have been swamping your chance to work on your wellness. You're ready now for the first time in years.

2 年Karen Falkenberg, Ph.D. As you know I had to stop everything a few months ago and take care of myself. In this transition priorities became very evident to me. I was stuck in the Go Go Go mode and was absent from myself. What a lesson!! Happy new year!

2 年Great post Karen. This year I will improve on what's been built last year. I will do strength training three days a week, alpine ski at least 20 times before the snow melts, and cycle 3500 km.
