Step Up to Greater Strength & Stability

Lateral Step Ups are a great lower-body exercise that help to improve balance, coordination and muscular development. Here’s a quick guide on how to perform them:

Set Up & Movement: Stand to the left side of a box or bench with feet shoulder-width apart, holding a kettlebell or dumbbell in both hands. Place your right foot on the box, forming a 90-degree angle, with your supporting left leg close to the box. Keep your torso tall and drive your right foot into the box to initiate the movement. Fully extend your right leg and bring your left leg to meet the right at the top. Step down slowly, and repeat for the specified number of reps before switching sides.
