A Step Towards a Responsible Future!
On March 14th, China, Vitality communities’ Ambassadors, along with 20 dedicated team members from various departments, joined forces to plant trees in a small town located at 28kms (about 17.4 mi) from site, in the Beichen District of Tianjin. Despite the challenging local soil conditions, the team planted 40 saplings including hibiscus, peach, red maple, and phoenix trees.
A solution to tough climate conditions? Partly, according to Helen Liu, China Communities Ambassador “In Tianjin, spring often brings frequent sandstorms. By planting trees, we aim to mitigate wind and sand, thereby reducing the likelihood of sandstorms. Participating in this initiative is a source of immense pride for me, as it signifies our collective effort to better the environment. While our individual contributions may appear modest, I believe this is a major step forward in our environmental awareness.”
On April 5th, Singapore, Vitality communities’ Ambassadors along with 35 team members, participated in OneMillionTrees movement at Bedok Stadium, located at 4 kms proximity from the site.
This initiative is a nationwide effort to plant a million more trees across Singapore over the next 10 years, to co-create a more livable Singapore for all, in which residents can live with and alongside nature, and in doing so, become better stewards of living environment!
The team planted 15 trees that included Tabebuia roses, cyrthophyllum fragrans and Magnolia champaca.
“Planting along these nature Ways is not only designed to cool the environment but also attract butterflies, garden birds, and small mammals, thereby enhancing biodiversity and integrating nature into our urban landscape.
By doubling the number of trees planted annually, we can improve our urban environment and bolster our resilience to climate change. Personally, I not only enjoy mingling with colleagues while planting affectionately called “Linxens trees” but also making a tangible difference for our environment. added Rodney S. , Singapore communities Ambassador.

Trees capture CO? through a process called photosynthesis. They absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, using sunlight and chlorophyll to convert it into oxygen and glucose, which they use for energy and growth. Of course, the carbon storage capacity of a tree depends on its species.
This process helps to reduce the amount of CO? in the atmosphere, mitigating climate change.
These initiatives demonstrated the power of collective effort in making a lasting impact on our planet: the combined initiatives should capture 1.3 Teq.CO? per year. Our calculations are based on estimates and averages and will vary according to the health of the local biodiversity but in the end, they are all doing it!
These 1.3 Teq.CO?, represents the production of 200 cotton t-shirts or a 6000 km (about 4163.19 mi) car ride. Every sapling we plant today holds the promise of a brighter tomorrow!
The organization of such events demonstrates Linxens’ commitment to making a positive impact on society. Linxens Vitality Communities pillar (with Hanh Guzelian as Sponsor and Rochira D'souza as Leader) supports local initiatives that have a direct positive impact on people in need in the environment Linxens operates in, empowering them to improve their lives, and we are proud to do so.
Linxens, We hope the National Steps Challenge can help strengthen your team bonding even more. We promise it's great fun: https://www.healthhub.sg/programmes/corporate-challenge#home
