Step Out of Problem-Solving and Become a Creator

Step Out of Problem-Solving and Become a Creator

Welcome back to The Self Realized Life. ?Last month, we talked about the rhythms that drive our lives.?This month, I'd like to make another distinction that has proven extremely useful for both myself and my clients…

Problem-Solving vs. Creation

We are literally talking about the difference between a lifetime of struggle and self-sabotage, or a lifetime of joyful creating.

The difference is simple. In the problem-solving structure, you are focusing on what's wrong...wrong with the world, wrong with other people or wrong with yourself. You'll find plenty of problems that need solving here, since that's what you're focused on.

?(Have you ever noticed how you tend to get more of whatever you focus on in life?)

If, on the other hand, you put your focus on what you desire first and then take action towards it, you are in the creative-oriented structure. From this perspective, you'll naturally see more opportunities.

When you are solving a problem, you are taking action to have something go away: the problem. When you are creating, you are taking action to have something come into being: the creation.

The beauty of the Creative Structure is that you begin to see life through the lens of endless possibility. This perspective is more aligned with the nature of your True Self.

The Problem-Solving structure, on the other hand, is more aligned with the limited view of the ego.

Remember, we created our ego when we were very young to protect us from a world we didn't understand. Your ego's function is survival, not happiness.

Your True Self...Who You Really Are...is the infinite space of possibility and freedom hidden by your ego.

So a simple way to learn to live as our True Self is to practice seeing life through the lens of possibility... The Creative Structure.

Try it. Imagine an outcome that you'd love to see in your life. Step into the experience of having that outcome now, not in some imaginary future.

Ask yourself: Who would I need to be to create this outcome?

That's the essence of the Creative Structure... You have to be it to see it.

Therefore, the Creative Structure is transformational. You become the person you must be to have the life you want.

This goes way beyond simple visualization or affirmations. This is about stepping out of the self-imposed bonds of your ego into the peace, clarity and freedom of your True Self.

Simple, not necessarily easy. Comment below with your questions and observations!

Seems like we're always saying: if I can just solve this one problem, put it behind me, THEN I can begin to live. Sadly, another problem always pops up and says: "NOW solve me!" And judging from my own "problems," most are illusions we conjure in our minds. Thanks for sharing a very powerful thought.
