We have all been there.
“Don’t throw that!”
“We can use it!”
Sounds similar? We have Hoarded stuff.
The items that need to be thrown away, go up into a corner, a box only to be forgotten.
I found a lot of things this past week as I have been decluttering. I have found that things that aught to have been thrown away have made a place in my corners, and even though someone else says I need to save things, it reflects on me.
Since I am cleaning house, I have thrown a lot of stuff that should have made its way to the dump years ago!
Similar to our homes, we tend to create a place of everything we do not use or need in our minds. If one went into the compartments, shelves and nooks and crannies of our brains, we literally have stuff we do not need in our brains. Why then do we hoard so many comments, negativity, complaints, things that happened in the past and other meaningless “clutter” in our heads?
The other thing is that we self-criticize! Oh yes you do!
Here are three tips can use everyday to clear your mind.
- Step out of FEAR into CLARITY.
We are born with fears and that is natural and healthy. The fear was instilled into you because you heard something. But now is the time to clean the cobwebs and clear the clutter.
My mom often said, how do you know you don’t like it if you don’t taste it. Same thing applies. Step out clean the cobwebs and do it.
2. Breathe
We breathe but we do not breathe!. How many deep breaths do you take? The brain needs oxygen! Meditation, yoga and just being outside allow you to take deep breaths. Take a few minutes each hour and just breathe. You will be amazed at the focus, and the dissipation of the negativity and clutter in your life.
3. Schedule Time for Negativity
You heard me! You nag yourself for one thing or another. Schedule sometime to do that each day. Put it as an appointment down. Then nag yourself at your heart’s content. Once you are done you will feel better and you will have cleared a shelf in your head about something that has been unconsciously bothering you. Once the clutter is gone, I guarantee that you will change the scheduled time to do something positive!
To your success
