A Step-By-Step Guide to "Verifying Analytical Valve Operation"
Ever wondered about verifying the operation of an analytical valve in a Gas Chromatograph ?
It's not as straightforward as observing the vent flow due to the continuous carrier gas flow.
Here's a quick and effective method to determine the functionality of your analytical valves while maintaining safety measures:
Power on GC, but ensure to turn off all Oven heater and other heat supplies.
Introduce the carrier gas (He or N2) at the sample inlet.
Forcefully activate the Sample Shut-Off Valve, if available.
Physically Open the sample outlet port of the analytical valve.
Carefully toggle the Analytical Valve ON and OFF via valve settings.
You will easily identify the switching of gas if the valve operates.
Remember, this is the last step after troubleshooting the solenoid valve and Actuation gas.
