STEM Advancement's Project-Based STEM Curriculum Moves to Core Learning Exchange’s Mastery Learning Platform

Successful Curriculum Completely Redesigned For 21st Century Students and Teachers

Staten Island, NY and Boulder, CO – 1 June 2017 - STEM Advancement, Inc. and Core Learning Exchange, Inc. are upping the ante for grades 6-10 STEM education with their new joint offering: Building Blocks of Engineering on the Core Learning Exchange CoreCollection (Core-LX) curriculum subscription platform. Completely re-envisioned from paper-based to enriched multimedia, Building Blocks of Engineering is a groundbreaking blended learning and project-based curriculum for STEAM studies, with over 180 NGSS- and Common Core-aligned lessons, arranged in ready-made playlists, for Materials Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Coding, and Mechanical Engineering.

STEM Advancement's Building Blocks of Engineering curriculum will be available to teachers worldwide via Core Learning Exchange’s cloud-based delivery platform for fall 2017.

Designed from the ground up for blended learning, the AdvanceSTEM curriculum is a mix of self-paced and authentic project-based learning. The modular course design allows AdvanceSTEM units to be easily mixed and matched with other science curricula available via the Core-LX platform to create exciting STEM programs.

“Given their creativity and understanding of project-based learning, it was no surprise that the STEM Advancement curriculum designers fully exploited the Core Learning Exchange development toolkit,” says Jeff Katzman, Founder and CEO of Core Learning Exchange. “The results are truly groundbreaking: authentic, project-based learning that can be used as a full year curriculum, integrated into a badge progression, or added to a personalized playlist.”

“Building Blocks of Engineering was created to help students develop their higher thinking while honing specific STEM skills, knowledge, and confidence to continue on to advanced courses,” notes Jeff Valadez, Director of Business Development for STEM Advancement. “Core Learning Exchange’s Core-LX mastery-based learning model fits our vision exactly, enabling teachers anywhere in the world to leap over the boundaries imposed by traditional textbook-based instruction. We look forward to expanding our reach to teachers domestically and internationally via the innovative delivery model offered by Core Learning Exchange. It's a game changer.”

Gittel Grant, author of STEM Advancement’s Building Blocks of Engineering, points out “Any STEAM program without a digital component is falling short of the progressive education it seeks to impart. Core Learning Exchange skillfully integrates technology within the STEAM discipline, allowing for individualized and multi-faceted learning. The wide array of tools available on the Core Learning platform enables teachers to reach every learner, maximizing learning and achievement.”
