Joel was a conservative midwest Baptist pastor with a wife, three kids, and one big secret: he was struggling with his identity as a gay man. In a defining moment, Joel came out “to God and to himself” and started rebuilding his life, piece by piece.
Now, as a public speaker and author of Godly, But Gay, Joel is committed to encouraging others to live authentically and move forward into a brighter, more hopeful future.
