NEW WELLAND JOIST FACILITY UPDATE
Commencement of joist production at Steelcon’s new Rusholme facility in Welland, ON is underway! The first joists out of the facility will be produced for the Wyecroft Park project, which includes two buildings at Carttera’s new state-of-the-art industrial development targeting LEED Silver Certification and Zero Carbon Ready standards. More than 300 tons of joists are being produced for the project.
Designed to house two of Steelcon’s four SIN Beam lines, fabrication at the Rusholme facility is primarily focused on joist production and SIN Beam, as well as Steelcon’s patent-pending SIN Floor composite flooring system.

STEELCON SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETES FIRST ICC-ES COMPLIANCE AUDIT
Congratulations to Steelcon’s Grantham plant team for successfully completing their first SIN Beam ICC-ES compliance audit!
In April 2023, Steelcon received an ICC-ES evaluation report confirming that SIN Beams comply with the provisions of the 2021 and 2018 International Building Code, and the 2021 and 2018 International Residential Code. As part of the process to ensure ongoing compliance with the report, all Steelcon facilities that produce SIN Beams are required to undergo an ICC-ES semi-annual audit.
ICC-ES is the industry leader in performing technical evaluations of building products, materials and systems for code compliance and the most widely accepted evaluation agency in North America.

Meet Idris Haidery! As Steelcon’s Senior Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager, Idris has an overall responsibility for developing, implementing, and overseeing Steelcon’s comprehensive suite of HSE programs, policies, and initiatives.
With strong leadership skills and deep understanding of safety regulations, Idris leverages his passion for employee well-being to drive a culture of HSE excellence across our operations. His passion, expertise, and proactive mindset inspire us all to prioritize safety in everything we do.
HYDRO ONE OPERATIONS CENTRE AND DISTRIBUTION WAREHOUSE
This project includes a new 168,285 sq ft operations centre and distribution warehouse for Hydro One in Orillia, ON.
Scope of Work:? Supply and install structural steel, joists, metal deck and miscellaneous metals.

This project includes an 8,750 sq ft addition to an existing metal stamping shop in Toronto, ON.

GREEN LANE WEST INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT
This project includes a new 343,005 sq ft industrial building as part of Rice Group’s Green Lane West development in East Gwillimbury, ON.
Scope of Work: Supply and install structural steel, install joists and metal deck.
Tonnage: 1,305 Tons
