Steelcase Foundation welcomes Stacy Stout as inaugural director of family-centered philanthropy

The Steelcase Foundation has named Stacy Stout its inaugural director of family-centered philanthropy, where she will lead the program design and implementation, and evaluation of the Foundation’s future approach to family-centered partnerships.
“Stacy’s leadership in engagement and equity across various sectors demonstrates her dedication to and effectiveness in driving positive change,” said Steelcase Foundation President Daniel Williams, EdD .? “As we continue to evolve in our work towards the centering of voices of those most impacted by unjust and harmful systems, celebrating the inherent brilliance of our community, having Stacy join our team is a tremendous asset.”
Prior to joining the Steelcase Foundation, Stout served as the director of equity and engagement with the City of Grand Rapids, where she established and executed the city's diversity, equity and inclusion strategies, policies and training.
Stout’s commitment to racial equity and community development is informed by her diverse background, which includes roles such as a former Michigan team member with the W.K. Kellogg Foundation , dean of students at Burton Middle School with Grand Rapids Public Schools , education director with the Hispanic Center of Western Michigan , and freshmen academy coordinator with Grand Valley State University .

Stout currently serves as a K-Connect board trustee, a member of the GRPS Native American Education Program Parent Committee, and a co-founder and board member of the Latina Network of West Michigan .?
Stout recently completed the two-year Political Determinants of Health Learning Lab with the Satcher Health Leadership Institute at Morehouse School of Medicine , exploring ways to advance equity through policy, partnerships and investments. Stout was also named a fellow in the W.K. Kellogg Foundation’s Community Leadership Network (CLN) Fellowship, a transformative program equipping leaders to drive meaningful change toward a more equitable society.
Stout’s accolades include the Grand Rapids Chamber ATHENA Youth Professional award, Young Professional of the Year award by the The West Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce , Community Improvement award by the GRYP - Grand Rapids Young Professionals , GR Business Journal’s 40 Under Forty designation, and recognition as one of the 50 Most Influential Women in West Michigan. Stout earned her undergraduate degree in biology and master’s degree in public administration with an emphasis in nonprofit leadership and management from Grand Valley State University.
