STEEL-ING THE SHOW:

SiVEST was proudly recognised at the prestigious Steel Awards 2024 on 3rd October 2024, hosted by the South African Institute of Steel Construction (SAISC). With four of its cutting-edge projects nominated for awards, SiVEST demonstrated its excellence and dedication to industry-leading project execution.

Among the nominated projects, in the Factory and Warehouse category, were Shoprite Riverfields and TFG Riverfields in Gauteng, Takealot Distribution Centre at The Brickworks in Durban, and Wells Estate Shoprite in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth), Eastern Cape. The TFG Riverfields project also earned a nomination in the Metal Cladding category.

The projects walked away with three awards.

The Shoprite Riverfields project secured the top honour, winning the Factory and Warehouse category. The design and construction of the impressive 92,000m2 warehouse, which includes office spaces and extensive infrastructure works, showcase SiVEST’s expertise in delivering complex and large-scale projects.

Commendations were also received for the Takealot DC at The Brickworks and the Wells Estate Shoprite project, further highlighting SiVEST’s contribution to innovative design and construction.

The Wells Estate Shoprite project involved the design and construction of an 80,000m2 extension to an existing distribution centre for Equites and Shoprite. This extension included bulk earthworks, infrastructure development and the addition of cold storage, dry goods warehouses, a new returns centre, a truck workshop, and an office block.

The Takealot DC at The Brickworks project, for which SiVEST received a commendation, involved the design and construction of a 40,000m2 distribution centre for Investec Properties and Takealot. The project encompassed bulk earthworks and infrastructure, as well as the construction of a warehouse, dry goods storage facilities, an office block, drivers' ablution facilities, and three large gatehouses.

SiVEST’s leadership and collaboration on these major projects reflects its commitment to delivering excellence.
