Raising Ethics 1st Data and AI Champions through STEAM in AI College Prep, Mentoring and Experiential Learning!
Are you a High Schooler interested in working on a life changing AI project that will help you learn skills needed for jobs of the future, stand out in college applications and help you create big societal impact?
Look no further!!
STEAM in AI?? Winter 2023 Cohort is bringing 2 exciting opportunities to work on AI Projects for students interested in Engineering, Data Science, Pre-Med, Politics, Business and more.
Project 1: Detecting Cardiac Arrhythmias’
Are you passionate about making a real-world impact through technology?
Our winter cohort will embark on a groundbreaking project to develop an AI-powered solution for detecting Atrial Fibrillation - the most common cardiac arrhythmia affecting seniors.
This isn't just a learning project; it's an opportunity to potentially save lives. Senior citizens, especially those from underserved communities, face significant challenges in accessing healthcare.
Our focus?
To utilize AI for remote monitoring, thus drastically improving their quality of life. You'll delve into advanced techniques like Shannon entropy, k-nearest neighbors, support vector machines, and various signal processing methods.

Project 2: Quantifying Inequitable Access to Election Polling Sites
Improving equitable access to community resources such as voting sites is an important first step towards addressing the needs of underrepresented populations.
This project will focus on the precise quantification of inequitable access to voting booths and the automated identification of electoral ``deserts`` using real-world maps of polling coverage.
The technique employed will be topological data analysis (in particular, persistent homology), a mathematical framework for detecting ``holes`` in a network or a cloud of data points.
Deadline to apply is approaching fast!!
Don't miss this unique opportunity to learn Data Science, Coding, AI model building, hands on research and a solid foundation of tech ethics.
