Stealing kids time

Stealing kids time

University of Michigan's C.S. Mott Children's Hospital National Poll reveal that?9 in 10 parents were concerned said that their children were spending too much time on video games.

The poll reveals 54 percent parents reporting their kids spending 3 or more hours with video games.

Let us say we want to "steal" 2 hours out of the 3 hours average daily time spent on Video Games ? Create a Table and make a game plan?in a way you do data analytics working for an IT company.??Here are my personal tips as a parent of a 12 year old

1. Cook meal together - I love cooking Pasta ( I learned it from an Italian couple long ago when living Austin), or Indian Curry and I love involving my son helping me in cutting vegetables. cleaning up the kitchen?the kitchen, serving and many more.

2. Gardening - Mowing the lawn, work on new plants, trimming the shrubs and many more. Unfortunately, the cold Boston weather will be limiting it in winters. Last week my son was diagnosed with Lyme disease, so a little precaution goes a long way.?

3. Home fixes - Always a joy to to involve in small home gigs, like small painting, cleaning, decorations.

4. Practicing Yoga - Nothing is better if you can inspire them about doing a regular Yoga practice. While I have not been able to spend time on it, my wife takes up this and has been able engage him. Believe me it can be their live turning moment.?

5. Engaging in Board Games - Boards games, especially games like Chess, keeps them engaged socially while sharpening mental skills. You can also use Moonpreneur Board game for sharpen their business skill while having fun playing it "in person".?While I have not been able to use the board game much, I think it can be useful for many. ?

6. Engage them in Online Classes - We can divert 2 hours in meaning online education that are fun and healthy.?

7. Create a social circle - Make a group of parents with about same age group kids and plan a social meeting on weekends.? ?

Here is how my "steal plan" looks like. My intention is to "steal" as much of the 21 hours available to them in their video game as possible.
