Hey there ?,
Generative AI is taking over. Just don’t ask everyone what they’re actually doing with it.
Cue: lots of blank stares, maybe a nervous laugh or two.
Well, we’re helping cut out the guesswork with not one but two eBooks: one for techies, one for business… erm. Business-ies?
?? Yep, that’s a thing.
Anyway, both of these ebooks are based on the same thing: our GenAI maturity framework, which breaks down the 3 stages of GenAI adoption.
They just break down the challenges and opportunities in a different way, depending on your role. So, whether you’re trying to map out GenAI’s impact for the C-suite or battling code to get it production-ready, we’ve got it covered in these two eBooks.?
They’ll help you understand which stage you’re at, and how to actually move things forward. And even better - you can steal the insights and impress your team.
?? Techie Edition ??
Read it if you’re…
Stage 1: Understanding available technologies, evaluating your infra, determining how AI can align with your business goals.
Stage 2: Creating PoCs, overcoming resource limitations, prioritising AI projects effectively while managing business expectations.
Stage 3: Scaling and integrating AI solutions, ensuring security, compliance, optimising for performance and value.
?? Business Edition ??
Read it if you’re…
Stage 1: Identifying impactful use cases, training your teams, workshopping ways to start strong.
Stage 2: Prioritising projects, using pre-built AI tools, bringing in external AI expertise to help out.
Stage 3: Securing AI solutions, integrating them into existing structure, establishing control at scale.
??? GenAI beyond the red tape
We recently hosted a couple panels on GenAI, at the Cloud Revolution Summit.
One was about how to grow GenAI without getting bogged down in red tape. Our experts agreed that it’s not just a tech challenge, but a strategic one that needs the whole organisation on board. Here’s 3 key points we heard:
?? GenAI’s not totally new.?
Those compliance, security, resilience questions we’re asking now? They’re the same we asked in the early days of cloud. But today, the big challenge is aligning everyone.?
?? Balancing ambition with security.?
Start small, keep whitelisting trusted solutions, and shift toward a “blacklist” approach as you build confidence. The goal? Avoid the “POC Purgatory” death loop.
?? Keep it real.
Stay focused on solving specific business problems rather than getting caught up in AI’s latest shiny capabilities.
Check out the summary infographic here, it has some great nuggets of insight from the panel speakers.
?? You’re probably in this group
44% of tech leaders we surveyed at the summit said scaling GenAI is their biggest challenge. In our second GenAI panel, we dug deeper into what holds back companies from delivering GenAI at scale.
It’s pretty clear, scaling GenAI isn’t about fancy tech or loads of data. It’s a people, process and practical use-case problem. These were the main insights:
?? Where are all the people?
Find skilled people, structure effective processes, and target the right use cases. No one’s a GenAI “expert” yet, so identify key people internally.?
?? Make it super clear.
Pitching GenAI use cases can be tricky. Develop your PoCs to be near production-ready before presenting them.
??? Don’t let data stop things.
Not many enterprises have perfect data. So don’t let imperfect data hold you back.?
?? Don’t try to be “done’
This tech is evolving so fast that you’ll never be fully “done.” Embrace an experimental mindset.?
The panel summary infographic for this one is here, it’s got some great numbers and actionable tips in there.

?? Cloud quote of the month
“We like to figure things out ourselves, but it’s also easy to sink too much time and resource into figuring out every aspect of the cloud. At this point in our development, we need to spend our time on what really matters.”

P.S. Did you miss last month? It was Cybersecurity Month, so we looked at cloud-based AI security services and shared responsibility in cloud. Catch up here.
And before that, we talked about building the “Relaxed IT Department” and the essential skills to drive successful GenAI projects. Read it here.
