How are you ensuring visibility and open communication with your clients?
Working remotely is the new normal, but that doesn't mean your clients have to feel like they're getting the "remote" treatment from you.
Here are some tips to make sure you stay top of mind and connected even when you're miles apart:
** First up, pick up the dang phone!
When you're working from home, it's easy for calls to slip through the cracks. Make an effort to answer during business hours or at least call back promptly. Your clients will appreciate the responsiveness.
**Don't let those voicemails pile up.
Check them regularly and flag anything urgent to circle back on quickly. A little effort goes a long way in making clients feel heard.
**Share that calendar link!
Give your clients the ability to book times directly on your cal. It's an easy way to open up your availability and let them work around your schedule.
**Don't ghost on emails and texts either.
Keep an eye on those inboxes and do your best to respond in a timely manner. Regular updates (no novels please!) can help clients feel looped in on longer-term projects.
Finally, remember that without face-to-face office time, you have to be a little more proactive about maintaining rapport. You're just a Zoom call away, so don't be a stranger! Over-communicate if you have to - it'll show you're still plugged in and dedicated.
The work-from-home life is amazingly convenient but also runs the risk of making clients feel like an afterthought. Don't let that happen to you!
A few smart checklist habits will keep you present and accounted for.
