Oxfordshire & North Bucks retain their Division One place at the National County Team Champs 2017
Sunday 8th October saw 28 swimmers, selected from 6 clubs across Oxfordshire and North Buckinghamshire; represent the county in the National County Team Championships at Ponds Forge in Sheffield.
The Championship sees more than 900 swimmers from 36 counties compete in two divisions with races going on in two pools at the same time. The events consist of individual and relay events and are contested over three age groups – 12/13 Yrs, 14/15 Yrs and 16/17 Yrs.
The ONB team finished in 11th place securing their place in Division 1 and gave some impressive early season performances and many achieved personal bests both in the individual and relay events. Many of those selected were youngest in their age group and were competing for the County Squad for the first time.
The presentation evening on Saturday saw 12 first time squad members received a County Champs medal in recognition of their selection and those returning to the squad were presented with their County colours.
Craig Oliver Head Coach from Bicester Blue Fins led the team.
