Staying safe during the "New Normal"

As we continue to move through this global challenge, and as weeks turn into months, it is important to remind one another that this is a time for vigilance, not complacency. The fact that lockdowns and government guidelines concerning physical distancing are easing in many parts of the world does not imply that we can let our guard down. We have an ongoing responsibility to do our utmost in keeping one another healthy and safe. As we at Shell evolve our policies and procedures to suit the ever-changing situation in dozens of individual countries, it is this principle of ongoing vigilance that continues to guide operations at all of our retail sites.
Back in March, as Covid-19 was spreading rapidly around the world, we quickly implemented enhanced health and safety measures at our sites in line with government guidelines, including additional cleaning and sanitation measures. While these efforts are still ongoing, we want our customers to be aware of exactly what we’re doing to protect everyone at our sites, and to be confident that we are continuing to do all that we can. This is why I’m pleased to announce the launch of Clean+, a new global initiative intended to both protect and inform our customers when they visit our retail sites around the world. It will include enhanced cleaning, regular sanitation of common touch-points (with corresponding signage), free sanitiser and/or wipes, protection for staff and reminders to maintain safe distancing. The campaign tagline will be ‘Let’s Stay Safe’.
Remain vigilant, stay safe, and know that wherever the New Normal takes us, Shell will be with you every step of the way.
