How to Stay #Resilient in Current Times

Resilience is the ability to effectively deal with, and recover from or adapt to challenging life situations, and it’s even more critical and important for us to build resilience in current times.

A person or team who is resilient is able to cope with crisis situations due to behaviours, thoughts and actions that they have learned and developed.

Some common resilience-building factors include having:

#Attitude Having an optimistic attitude can help you focus on the good things in your life, rather than worrying about things you may not be able to control. This means acknowledging your own strength, resourcefulness and abilities.

#Aptitude Develop realistic plans and take decisive action.?By having a goal, you can focus on specific tasks that will enable you to move towards your goal.

#Purpose have a sense of purpose and a long-term focus, finding meaning and purpose can increase well-being?–?and make a big difference in your mental and physical health.?

#StayFit and #StayHealthy

  • #Exercise It is important to exercise your body and stretch out tense muscles as well as finding time for relaxation. Exercise is a great way to relieve stress, stay fit, physically and mentally, so go get some fresh air.
  • #EatHealthy diet and be sure to get enough sleep. By taking care of yourself, you will be better prepared to deal with situations that require resilience.?
  • #SelfCare Follow a daily schedule, exercise, shower, get dressed, make your bed, and prepare for your day. Find a relaxing way to spend your downtime, read a good book, watch a funny movie, listen to music.

#SocialConnections?This is the time to stay in touch and supportive each other. Check in on others: family members, friends, classmates, colleagues. Imagine what you can do virtually, in pairs, in small groups, or in larger gatherings.

#ShowGratitude Practice gratitude on a regular basis, it’s instrumental in helping you become more optimistic, and impacts on your overall mood and perspective.

#PracticeMindfulness Being mindful helps us to slow down and reduces anxiety, a few deep breaths can reduce stress. Being mindful can be a welcome change from worries, and it can help us to focus on what’s truly important.
