Staying in "Ready Position"
One key business and life lesson I've learned from sports is this: Always Stay in Ready Position.
In wrestling, it means being in an athletic, low stance with your hands in front of you. In table tennis, it means knees bent, and racquet up.
You can't control your opponent, but you can control the state you're in when you engage with them.
As I think about what my "Ready Position" might look like for life and business, here’s what comes to mind:
1. Sleep
Prioritize restful sleep every night. It rejuvenates your body and sharpens your mind.
2. Nutrition
Fuel your body with high-energy foods that sustain you throughout the day. You eat to feel amazing. (this mindset helped me ditch junk food and not look back)
3. Movement
Exercise and proper movement put your body and mind in a great position to carry you through the day.
4. Continued Improvement
Learning and growth are essential. Whether it’s picking up a new skill, learning a language, or challenging yourself in some way, always strive to improve.
5. Spirituality / Mindset
Stay connected to your core purpose and keep that connection strong and alive.
6. Social
Maintain healthy relationships by giving and receiving. Strong connections are the foundation of a fulfilling life.
While there’s more that could be added, your "Ready Position" is personal to you.
For me, focusing on my Ready Position has shifted my attention from the outcomes to the process. It’s about optimizing your state and being prepared for whatever you’re seeking.
Based on your last month, how ready have you been to tackle life and business?
What’s one small adjustment you can make today to enhance your state?
