Under threat

Productivity as we know it has come under attack because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The fabric that separated our work/life balance has been lifted and we are transitioning towards a new reality. To top things off, as the coronavirus spreads exponentially, our jobs have come under threat as demand falls and uncertainty of the global economy rises.

More time in our hands?

Whether you are working, have been temporarily let go, or looking for a job, what is one supposed to do while time seems to stand still? Level with me here, don't you feel like you have more free time than before?

There are plenty of articles on the Internet and LinkedIn that give you tips on how to be productive, what tools to use, how to maintain sanity, and so forth. Here is a good article from The Muse.

Crisis = Opportunity

I am a firm believer that where there's a crisis, there's an opportunity. I further believe that scarcity is the spark that initiates creativity and when creativity clashes with opportunity true disruption, true innovation, and true entrepreneurship is born.

Look Inward for Inspiration

While there's plenty of uncertainty at this moment, paralysis isn't the answer. As you try and make the best of these times, I ask you to look inward for inspiration. These are trying times, but it can bring out the best of you. Here are probably some questions you should ask yourself:

  1. Where can my skills be of best use during these times?
  2. What skills do I need to polish or improve?
  3. Am I making the best use of my time?

Make the best of these trying times

In closing, I would like all those who read this article to take advantage of these trying times to reassess or introspect your personal and professional paths, there is always a better and newer version of yourself.
