Staying Motivated!

You may not be feeling the most motivated to exercise. It’s easy to get into couch potato mode if you are working from home, so I wanted to share some tips on how to stay motivated to exercise!
- Change your perspective. If your attitude is “woe is me”, then you’re going to have a hard time getting off the couch. Remind yourself that you’re lucky to be able to move your body! If you start thinking that your workouts are blessings rather than sacrifices, then you’ll have a much more positive workout experience.
- Set a goal. There is nothing more motivating than seeing some bold letters on a calendar stating your goal. Set realistic goals that include clear milestones. As you progress towards your goal, you’ll find a ripple effect occurs and things fall into place in your work, home life, and health.
- Schedule a regular workout time. If you have a set time to work out every day, you’re more likely to do it rather than just saying “I’ll fit it in somewhere.” A busy schedule may require you to wake up an hour earlier, but you’ll find that you have more energy and can be more efficient throughout the day.
- Make sure your workouts have some element of fun and variety. If you’re doing the same things every day, it’s very easy to get bored and unmotivated. Try to find the workouts that you enjoy doing. By doing a variety of workouts, your body will be challenged in unique ways, which may introduce you to new muscle groups you didn’t even know you had!
- Reach out to others for support. Every motivated person has a support network. A family member, a friend, and a personal trainer are typically the best combination you can have! If you’d like a virtual personal trainer to keep you motivated, please contact me!

4 年As an avid exerciser and fellow personal Trainer, may I add in one more idea? I personally have been Struggling with my workouts. Perhaps it is wise to "lower the bar." That is, to self-reinforce for all activity. Not up for running your usual mileage, cut it in half and still give yourself a pat on the back. Can't lift what you usually lift, reduce the weight and still feel good about what you are doing. Keep moving. Stay healthy. Yet be kind to yourself. #positivity #selfcare #motivation #kindness
