Staying Grounded in Sales and Entrepreneurship

As a Purpose-Driven Entrepreneur or Coach you are in the unique position to be open and share your energy with another person. Each client session is a conscious exchange of energy.

This means that knowing who your ideal client is, and is not, is a little bit more important to you than in most other industries.?

Because we keep the lines of energetic communication open, we are susceptible to picking up debris even from the most well intentioned clients and prospects.?

As a sales professional and entrepreneur I have had thousands of sales calls and developed my own steps to having a conscious, connected Discovery Call. This process enables me to be open, present and remain in control of the conversation (out of respect for both mine and my prospects' time).?

It is SO important to remain grounded in your personal power while being open and empathetic.?

So what do you do when someone slips past the gate and gets into your calendar if they do not have the best of intentions? Or perhaps they lack the awareness of their energy entirely.?


Beware The Energy Vampire!?


No, I am not ready for Halloween just yet, but energy vampires can really throw off your day and it's far more common that you might realize.

Here are three layers of protection you must have in place in order to protect yourself.?

Layer #1: Your Brand

Your number one job is to be the embodiment of what you do. By boldly creating content that shows exactly who you are and what you are about, you will naturally decrease the chances of attracting the wrong-fit clients into your world.?

But remember the self-awareness part from earlier? Yeah, there is still that to contend with!

Which brings us to....


Layer #2: Process and Automation

Listen, not everybody should have access to you. This is YOUR business. You decide who steps through the front door.

Creating an automated email that requires any new prospects to answer a couple of questions will give you a sense of their intentions.?

If they don't care enough to answer the questions, they are far more likely to be a no-show anyways.?2 birds, one stone!


Layer #3 - Create Energetic Boundaries?

My coach taught me how to create Energetic Boundaries and it was one of the most useful skills I’ve acquired this year.?

I’m over simplifying, but the idea here is to add into your pre-call ritual a visualization of white light surrounding you from the tips of your toes to the top of your head and asking your Higher Power to protect you from any unwanted energies.?

If you find yourself being sucked in by unwanted energy, a quick in-the-moment trick I use is to say your own name (in your head) to shift your attention back to you so you can course correct.?


BONUS Layer #4: My Selling With Soul discovery call step-by-step process

Whether you use mine or create your own, knowing exactly what you wish to get from your time on the call, what you intend to give, and knowing your prospects' motivations are necessary ingredients for a productive and connected call.?

Please remember, Energy Vampire or not, you have invited someone into your world and it is your responsibility to remain in control of the conversation and guide them.
