Stay True to You.
Staying committed to our values is important. Our values are what make us, us. They are based on our up-bringing, culture, personal experience, religion, and core beliefs.?There is a 1 in 400 trillion chance that you turned out to be you. That is incredible. So you are incredible and unique. There are certain things that you are put in this world to do that only you can do. This can mean being a good sister or brother, friend, or parent. Other times it means giving your energy and effort to a cause or purpose bigger than yourself.
When making decisions at work, identity how you feel about the situation and use those feelings as a guide in your decision making. Now, I know you have to take the firm's guidelines into consideration, but voice your opinion too. A decision made using multiple diverse perspectives is better than one with few perspectives. Corporations are made of people. Society is made of people. People come first.
Everyone Loses. Get over It.
When pursuing anything worthwhile, there will be setbacks. You will lose. The most successful people have lost the most. I bet Michael Jordan has missed more shots than any other basketball player in history. But, he has also taken the most shots.
The key is to learn from each failure. “Fail Forward” is the common expression for learning from each setback.?Douyin/TikTok failed many times in China before it found the right product-market fit. Now they are positioned to take over most of social media today.
Everyone loses. Get over it. Learn and try again.

Track Your Failure.
Be intentional about learning from failure. This week, when you are unsuccessful at a task or project, take moment and write down or video record how you are feeling. Take note of your emotions, how to currently feel and what you need to improve next time. Repeat this process each time you attempt the task. After a few weeks, review your journal and reflect on what you have gained and learned from your experience.
Just try it. Sometimes victory goes to those who simply try where others do not.
