To stay or to change?
That's the question that many of us have asked in our lives.
But before that, how are you doing so far? Feel free to let me know in the comments below.
If you're doing well and making progress on your new year's resolution, then let's keep up the momentum. If you're not, it's time for you to get started!
Anyway, back to the question, do we stay or do we change?
For many of us, it's a hard question to answer especially if we're staying in a toxic environment or doubting our abilities to move on.
Our core values and impact we made
At times, we might not know how much of an impact we made on others. It takes a random stranger to comfort and remind us that we're doing the right things that will bring benefits to others.
A couple of weeks back, I was still in doubt of how I can create more value content to the community in LinkedIn. But thankfully, a private conversation with 2 of my connections, Gladys De Silva and Fathiha Johan clarified my doubts and I'm able to feel confident about myself again.
A few days later, I saw Alexandra Wong's post on how she stayed on as a writer after having doubts about herself.
You can check out her post below.
Sometimes, we may not be able to see the impact that we have created until someone reminds us of why we should continue on our own path.
In Alexandra's own words,
"Success isn't about how you measure up to other people's benchmarks, but about how much it matters to you and the people who value you."
If it's toxic, then change is for the better
How do we know when we need to change?
And when the time comes, do we have the courage to take the leap?
One thing is for sure, change isn't easy. It takes guts, courage and most importantly, it takes every single ounce of your energy to change for the better.
For some people, the fear of change grips them. The doubts, insecurities and uncertainties will force them to stay back in an environment that will eventually consume them in the long run.
A connection of mine, Kit Yee Cheng, posted a personal story of herself embracing change which I think deserves to be highlighted here.
You can check out her post below.
I'm truly inspired by her courage and determination to change things around in her life.

Feeling lost in your job search?
If you're on LinkedIn and you're still not getting any interviews for your job search, please don't give up just yet.
Read this up and give this a try.
The real reason why you're not getting job interviews if you're on LinkedIn is because you're not leveraging on the power of LinkedIn.
Applying for jobs on Jobstreet, LinkedIn, Indeed or Hiredly isn't enough. Bear in mind that your LinkedIn post alone can have a massive organic reach which can lead to recruiters or HR hunting for you instead of you looking for them.
So, do you want to know how you can maximize this LinkedIn outreach? Read on my post below to find out.
