Developer Nofar Hotel Group, is proposing a Staybridge Suites Hotel at 31501 Schoolcraft Road in Livonia Michigan.?The site includes an empty building that used to be a beauty school.?The four floors of the hotel would encompass roughly 71,000 square feet and include parking on all four sides of the building. The facility would include 94 suites and, on the ground floor, offer amenities like a pool, fitness center and laundry.?The city commissioner stipulated that developers need to change most of the building’s insulation from an exterior insulation finishing system (EIFS) to masonry, metal or a composite material. A representative from Powell Engineering said EFIS was a more affordable option for the developer, but industry experts say the system can create moisture issues.?Nofar Hotel Group owns a collection of hotels in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana, including the Holiday Inn Express at 27451 Schoolcraft Road in Livonia.?
