Hope all of you are doing well.
The current global scenario is a new experience for all of us, and I know many are scared and a few are putting on a brave front with a fluttering heart.
A few ways to care for your mental health, in these trying times are:
1. Accept the situation; accept even if you are worried and scared. It is fine to be that way and it is normal.
2. Connect with people at home, friends and ensure you have a deeper conversation as opposed to touching on only the superficial details. Do not be shy or egoistic to accept that they mean a lot to you.
3. Spend time reading and listening to music or consuming any art form as that helps your body to be calm and centered.
4. Pay attention to personal hygiene at home and ensure you declutter your spaces, which will make you feel lighter in your environment.
Remember, above all, to give gratitude for the blessings you have.
While the list above seems like a classic case of “easier said than done”, it is essential to work on facing this situation one day at a time, putting one foot in front of the other.
It is natural at this hour, to feel disassociated from reality, it is important right now to reach out to others, the spirit of community and belonging has never been more imperative.
We must also remember that despite the overwhelming fear for our well-being and the health of those close to us we must not under any circumstance try to self-medicate with drugs prescribed on social media.
We are going to be fine, as this too shall pass, and will someday be looked upon as a defining moment in history that we will share as both a tale of caution and a story humanity bonding more deeply than we thought possible.
