Stay safe on the water this (and every) weekend
Baltic Lifejackets
Experience the true feeling of being free on the water with Baltic lifejackets. Lifejackets for everyone.
It has finally rained, you know the British love to talk about the weather, and the summer of 2022 has been one of extremes with the heat wave that has the potential to turn to flash floods with the sudden arrival of rain falling on perilously dry land.??
Whilst talking about the weather is a popular pastime, it’s also one that can easily be forgotten when we look outside to see the sun shining and quickly decide to head to the beach, river or local reservoir.
Being sailors, kayakers, SUPers and general watersports enthusiasts, before we take to the water, we [should] know and understand the weather and how it can change in a second and sometimes without warning. However, if you or your friends and family are unaware of what you should be looking for here are some tips from Brendon Prince from The Long Paddle 2021 and the charity Above Water. It’s always good to refresh ourselves as to what we should be doing.
Too often on the news we hear of people who have gone into the water to cool off and sadly not returned to shore. Through wearing a lifejacket or buoyancy aids you significantly increase your chance of survival and being found. So please WEAR IT.
At Baltic we have dedicated years into designing and manufacturing products for all shapes and sizes, as ultimately the best lifejacket is the one you wear, and you are likely to wear one that is comfortable and non-intrusive to you.

So please, if you are taking to the water this week, weekend or any weekend, plan in advance, make sure you have researched your location, and that you have the appropriate equipment for you and that all your party are doing the same. We are not trying to scaremonger; we simply want you to enjoy your time on the water and return to shore safely.
STOP. LOOK. LISTEN. FLOAT.
