Dear LinkedIn Community,
In today's dynamic job market, staying informed about potential layoffs and employment opportunities is crucial for everyone. That's why I'm excited to share with you a fantastic resource I recently discovered: WarnTracker.com . This user-friendly website offers a plethora of filter options, making it incredibly easy to stay abreast of WARN Act notices across different states, companies, and dates.
But first, let's touch on why the WARN Act is so significant. The Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act is a federal law that requires certain employers to provide advance notice of layoffs and plant closures. This legislation ensures that employees have time to prepare for job loss and seek alternative employment opportunities. By law, companies must notify the state where they are registered of any impending layoffs, making this information publicly accessible.
Unfortunately, many individuals are caught off guard by layoffs because they aren't aware of WARN Act notices. That's where WarnTracker.com comes in handy. With its intuitive interface and comprehensive filtering options, you can easily search for WARN Act notices specific to your location, industry, or employer.
Speaking of opportunities, I want to share some exciting news from my own corner. At Waffle House, we're not just weathering the storm – we're thriving and expanding! Please remember that not all employers are required to follow the WARN Act. ?The WARN (Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification) Act requires businesses that employ over 100 workers to either give their employees 60 days’ notice in writing of a mass layoff or plant closing or to pay the employees if they fail to give the notice. WARN generally affects larger employers, so a small business often will not give any notice.
