One of my core beliefs is that everyone is Naturally Creative, Resourceful, and Whole. Since it is people that make up teams and organizations, by extension this also means that teams and organizations are also NCRW.
To me, this means that people, teams and organizations inherently know what the solution to a particular problem is within themselves, and as a coach and a consultant, my function is to help them find that answer.
There are times when I will suggest a particular course of action just to help start the exploration process. This most likely is based on my past experience in solving a problem. With that said, just because I propose something, it doesn't mean that the person, team, or organization has to adopt it.
This brings me to ask another question.
Why is it that when it comes to accomplishing work in an organization, we tend to adopt a particular framework to help us get the job done without question?
Is it because we see marketing material espousing who has adopted said framework and has achieved great success?
Over time, as the individuals, teams and organizations gain in experience and knowledge, they will discover better ways of solving their unique challenges and problems. As such, they may discover that a particular framework no longer meets their needs.
This seems to be the case, as the 17th State of Agile report indicates a decline of more than 50% in organizations using SAFe, and a 9% drop in organizations using Scrum@Scale.
So what's the moral of this story?
1)Take inventory of what you are learning each and everyday.
2) Critically look at what is working and what isn't for you.
