When Polycarp Igathe wrote to Mike Sonko. on his intention to quit, we all turned our guns to Sonko and some of us to Igathe. My gun was pointed directly to Sonko's forehead ready to shoot and drop him down. It's been two months later and I have learnt a thing or two!
We actually may never know who to blame, who was right and who was wrong because:
1) > Sonko turned mum and buried his face in the sad! He did not run on social media or call a press conference to explain himself or justify anything. In as much as we wanted to hear from him, he ignored and controlled is embarrassment and shame. He let Igathe have his way and FOCUSED on his own.
2) > Igathe on the other hand, new that he could't take another sip of Sonko's administration but he new the importance of keeping friends for who they have been not what we expect them to be. He did not present Sonko for public stoning or punish him in public.
Today, we have forgotten and Sonko moved on as much as Igathe did. Life never stops even when you are not part of it. Never destroy people or bang the door behind you on your exit. Don't be quick to answer to people for answers you did not have. Don't please anyone as the cost might be high and it's always personal costs!
We forgot the story in two months and do not be surprised voting for Sonko in 2022! Igathe will run some of the big corporate too as that still, did not expire! Below Igathe was today's chief guest at the African Market Research Association Forum 2018. #AMRA2018 #AfricaForum2018
