As the days are shorter and temperatures drop, it's time to prepare for the challenges that winter weather brings.?From blizzards to ice storms, emergency managers need to be ready to respond quickly and effectively to keep the public safe. That's why we're excited to launch our new Winter Weather Extension Pack for D4H Operations Center! This free add-on provides a suite of boards designed to help you manage winter weather events with confidence.

What is the Winter Weather Extension Pack?

Extension Packs are free pre-configured resources that you can download and install directly into your D4H account. The Winter Weather Extension Pack is a collection of six Status Boards tailored to the unique demands of winter weather response. This pack equips your organization with the resources to monitor conditions, coordinate operations, and keep the public informed, ensuring a coordinated and efficient response to winter weather emergencies.

What's included?

This pack includes five brand new Status Boards, plus a key Status Board from our existing Office of Emergency Management Extension Pack:

• PDA-Snow (Public Damage Assistance): Track and manage requests for public assistance related to snow damage, ensuring a timely and organized response to citizen needs.?
• Road Closures: Monitor road conditions and closures in real-time, enabling efficient communication with the public and facilitating safe travel.
• Snow Plow Operations: Coordinate and track snow removal efforts, optimizing resource allocation and ensuring efficient snow clearing operations.
• Warming Centers: Manage the availability and capacity of warming centers, providing critical support to vulnerable populations during extreme cold.
• Winter Storm Forecast/Path: Stay informed about approaching winter storms, including their predicted path, intensity, and potential impact.
• OEM Code Blue Alerts (from the Office of Emergency Management Extension Pack):?Leverage this existing board to issue critical alerts during extreme cold weather events, ensuring the safety of vulnerable individuals.
