The figures suggest this form of marketing is here to stay, and brands need to keep up with influencer trends in order to reach their target markets. The term ‘de-influencing’ is the most recent trend to gain popularity on TikTok as a result of the current economic and environmental crisis.?

Influencers using this new hashtag are posting videos that advise their followers on ‘what not to purchase’, suggesting affordable alternatives instead.?
