Join our community and accelerate your professional career!

Whether you are looking for your next scientific conference, or exploring training options to develop new technical skills, Wellcome Connecting Science has something for everyone - whatever your career stage or area of genomics.

We work with over 500 collaborators to reach over 25,000 scientists, across the globe; connecting them with the latest research and training opportunities.

"This meeting has often pushed the boundaries of the latest science in the area, and acts as more of a ‘science forecast’ than most conferences that simply recap recent results." - Jennifer Gardy, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, USA, commenting on our Applied Bioinformatics and Public Health Microbiology conference

We are building globally connected communities equipped with the latest knowledge and technical skills to be catalysts of transformative change in genomics research and medicine.

10 years of strengthening clinical microbiology across Africa!

In September, we had the privilege of celebrating the 10th anniversary of our in-person Molecular Approaches in Clinical Microbiology course, with a cohort of 21 participants from 16 African countries.

Hosted at the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI), in Nairobi, Kenya, Professors Sam Kariuki and Robert Onsare, led this group through a combination of wet-lab and computational training in the application of molecular approaches to their own infectious disease research.

“The knowledge and skills gained on this course are invaluable, empowering us to make a significant impact on healthcare in our region.” - 2023 course participant.

Our training team, working across the globe, is committed to supporting the development of communities of practice, facilitating continued mentorship and learning, beyond a single training course. We look forward to watching this year's cohort of clinical microbiology participants flourish in their careers.

Join the global single cell community at Hinxton Hall Conference Centre in 2024

Save the date for Single Cell Biology 2024: 10-12 June 2024

Next year we welcome back global leaders in single cell biology, to discuss the latest advances in the field, and explore some fundamental questions shaping research:

  • How do cells cooperate and compete in tissues and organs?
  • How does a cell’s past predict its future?
  • What are the cell autonomous and non-cell autonomous mechanisms of disease?
  • How can we predict what cells will do next?
  • What are the evolutionary principles of cellular robustness?
  • How are complex phenotypes regulated by the genome?

From cancer to gut development, organoids to rare diseases, this meeting is an excellent opportunity to participate in interdisciplinary knowledge exchange, and gain fresh ideas to inform your own research.

Find out what our 2022 conference delegates had to say about this meeting.

"This conference is quite special because of the people! There's something about this place that draws people from all over the world - the brightest minds with the latest research. It's always exciting to meet here in-person to network and hear about the latest." - Itai Yani, NYU Langone Health, USA.

Financial support is available for anyone facing barriers to attendance. Whether you need a bursary to help with the registration fee, or a carer's grant to absorb the costs of caring responsibilities.
