Stay Ahead: Commit to Lifelong Learning and Self-Growth

Eric Hoffer once said: "In times of change, learners inherit the Earth, while the learned find themselves beautifully equipped to deal with a world that no longer exists." Well, times are changing, the world is moving so fast, and we'll be left behind if we're not absolutely committed to learning and developing ourselves. We'll be like most people in this world who have a set of skills only suitable for a world that no longer exists. We'll be left behind not just in society but also in the skills needed to excel and succeed there. Still, we will be left behind in realising our true potential if we are not absolutely committed to our own self-education, work, and self-growth. We'll never grow into the person we could have become. So, we should not to give up on that person. We should not give up on the person we are capable of becoming. Commit to becoming a lifelong learner and learning about ourselves. What makes us tick, what lights us up, what excites us, and what creates a better us at the same time. What can we learn today that will make our future better? What can we learn, do, and act on today that will make our life in the future better and the lives of people on this planet? Our influence is seen and felt by everyone in our circle. If people around us see us growing, that might inspire them to grow. They might think they can do better if they see us do better. If we set an example, maybe they will follow. It's not only the world that is changing, we are changing, too, and everyone around us is changing. We're not the same person we were a week ago, a year ago, certainly not ten years ago. Hopefully, we're better, but we're certainly not the same. Life experiences force us to change. We change our thinking and perspective, our bodies change, and our emotions change. We should make sure they change for the better; the only way to do that is with our own self-work and self-education. Develop ourselves. Commit to being that learner. Learn from the most outstanding teachers who resonate with us. There's not one guru for every person; we should find many and learn from them all. Most importantly, learn about ourselves. Become aware of our daily practices and reactions, aware of what feels good and what doesn't, and aware of who feels good to be around. Adapt our life. If we make that commitment today, it might just be the first day of the best of our life.
