Background

In our scientific, professional and research career, which has run in parallel although with close ties with academia, but maintaining a profile of operational freedom and corporate frameworks, we have had the immense fortune of having been in the front row in the development arena of the IV Industrial Revolution, which began in the 1980s.

In this context, we have been very close observers and actors in several instances of this milestone of humanity in the postmodern era.

During this time, global society has been consolidated as such and a process of deconstruction and reconstruction of universal paradigms that have accompanied us since classical antiquity, but that as a consequence of the postwar period and the consumerist explosion of the social society model, has been defined. Western middle class has pushed the creation of currents of thought and corporate actions that have been evolving exponentially with the consequent vortex trajectory that encompasses us and makes us lose sight of the ontological location of individuals and the paradigms of development and lifestyle. .

Never before has humanity lived with such ease and with so much access to goods and services, democratizing access and use of them in a way never seen before, whether for better or worse. The exercise of freedom, although not necessarily responsible freedom, has been considered the supreme good of humanity and a fundamental objective to be achieved in subjugated societies or with limited freedoms.

Capitalism, understood as a philosophical entity, has endured, expanded and generated conditions of human growth never seen before, making it accessible to all sectors of society throughout the world. This does not mean that the alarming presence of populations subjected and immersed in deplorable living conditions is denied, but if we analyze it with past historical eras, inequality has been drastically reduced since the advent of globalized trade and capitalism as the predominant system.

Republican democracy and capitalism properly understood, have proven to be the best of the systems exercised by humanity. However, the good use and management of both requires a high level of enlightenment and great civic responsibility of citizens in the most essential of concepts.

The years following the Second World War have seen unprecedented development of industry and commerce, thanks to universal access to goods, services and education.

The growth and exploitation of the environment began explosively since the first industrial revolution in the 18th century and never stopped or slowed down.

Today we are experiencing the consequences of the environmental impact that this exploitation turned into predation has generated.

The productive workforce of societies has ceased to be an essential activity in terms of its nature (designed to generate vital consumption products, food, health and education) and has become second, third and fourth order jobs. They respond to maintaining industrial, commercial systems (emporia and consortia), bankers, Science and technology (Applied with increasing emphasis on the generation of wealth and mass and economic consumption products: converted into stock market products per se regardless of the complexity technological scientist that they represent).

Societies are becoming more sophisticated in terms of their labor productive network, closely integrated into the intrinsic processes of the industries/mass productive systems and their corollary environments, where a paradox is demonstrated, which consists of an apparent training requirement of workers to maintain the current and operational system, sustainable and constantly growing. But we understand that it is crucial to carry out a sincere diagnosis of the situation of global society and ours in particular, since we have seen, by being part of this same development described in previous paragraphs, that an essential epistemological fissure is being generated in society that can have disastrous consequences for the short-term future, since the process of closing the evolutionary cycle has already been triggered.

Main reasons for the deterioration of postmodern societies:

To this curious socio/anthropological phenomenon, we must add the complex of denial of the original cultural difference first and European cultural differences later, which were very different from the rest of Latin America; difference, however, that was resisted by the national intellectuality that continued to be formed in the French school but intended not to intellectually betray the mother country of Spain; and a continental brotherhood never embodied and always invoked, despite the ancestral division that has always existed from the native peoples to this day. This kind of dual and even schizoid behavior according to some intellectuals, among whom a contrary reference is Jose E. Rodó (1871 - 1917), a fervent defender of “Americanness” was also dazzled by the light of a flame fueled by desire instead of objective reality.?

Technology today is absolutely essential for the very sustenance of human life on the planet, so we are embarking on a one-way journey.

The crucial point is to address the emerging challenges as a result of its impact and omnipresence, which involve exclusively training responsible free-thinking individuals, since an artificial intelligence system requires, as a sine qua non, people with a high degree of enlightenment and intellectual versatility.

Measures to suggest to combat the deleterious effects established in global and individual society

Taking into account the observation of the permanent and growing structural deterioration of society in the aspects of general cognition, enlightenment, education, values and responsible freedom. Considering also that these factors presented in this order of evolution generate the effects of:

  • Trivialization of society
  • Loss of discernment and decision-making capacity in relevant phenomena of daily life.
  • Hyper Consumerism
  • Deculturalization and ontological misrepresentation of the concept of culture
  • Loss of ethical values due to ignorance of their existence
  • Development of the subculture of easy consumption and the customary rejection of personal training and education/training to carry out any task

The direct consequence of these transversal factors at this point in all socio-cultural and economic strata has been the common trunk of complex causes of the overwhelming presence of aberrant behaviors, namely:

  1. General violence
  2. Polarized attitudes and fanaticism based on distorted ideological assumptions, to the point of real ignorance of the bases on which they proclaim a motivator.
  3. Vandalism behavior in hordes.
  4. Domestic violence:
  5. Rebellion without rational cause in the face of the imposition of rules of citizen coexistence
  6. Epistemic disruption at global levels generated by sources that specifically generate them as a highly efficient instrument of massive manipulation.
  7. Exponential increase and increasingly at an earlier age of addictions and problematic substance use; Endemic alcoholism and epidemic childhood and adolescent alcoholism.
  8. Unschooling and in the best of cases, schooling with null results in terms of learning and applicability in the educational process of the person. Which leads to an unskilled workforce that is not adaptable to technological evolution.
  9. Trivial and irresponsible participation in collective activities with general impact that have a negative impact on the collective with civic irresponsibility.
  10. Loss of citizen quality that is not compatible with material poverty.

This decalogue of emerging factors over three decades of free fall, but which has been evolving insidiously for much longer, must be considered urgently and with real holistic criteria, since it is a single common trunk of predisposing and determining causes. that leads to the loss of freedom and responsibility, which is accompanied by the loss of the concept of nation.

Institutional Education, but the comprehensive training of the individual that must start from the families, must stop being a simple demagogic saying to become effective and executive, through direct measures that vertically address the requirements for the formation of knowledge, wisdom and citizenship, with a serious and responsible epistemological categorization that facilitates, independently of any type of ideological paradigm, the process of formation of the person.

From this point and in parallel or successively, other measures may be applied for the multiple systems that affect society, but the formation of enlightened citizenship is a sine qua non condition to make any other thinkable.?

Measures to address the optimization of cognitive management of the population

In short, it is necessary to effectively use technology, generate sustainability criteria based on intellectual honesty of social, industrial and educational political actors, which address the criteria of productivity, sustainable growth and effective and intelligent production.

It is essential to have technology? without fear or false popular mythologies.

It is equally essential to stop the structural social deterioration and train the new generations with intellectual capacities and enlightenment that reflect a holistic education to give plasticity, versatility and responsible freedom.

As in all human activity, with each action of the collective, legal and praiseworthy actions emerge, as well as other corrupt and harmful ones.

That is the primary reason for the need for the existence of law and intelligent legislation to be able to effectively regulate the technological activity of society, which is subject to a transcendent challenge: achieving the capacity to create the conditions to address the future.
