Statement from the President's Strategic and Policy Forum

Statement from the President's Strategic and Policy Forum

I remain deeply committed to improving healthcare for all Americans. Regarding my role on the President's Strategic and Policy Forum, please read the collective statement made by the CEOs on the forum:

"As our members have expressed individually over the past several days, intolerance, racism and violence have absolutely no place in this country and are an affront to core American values. The President's Strategic and Policy Forum was conceived as a bi-partisan group of business leaders called to serve our country by providing independent feedback and perspectives directly to the President on accelerating economic growth and job creation in the United States. We believe the debate over Forum participation has become a distraction from our well-intentioned and sincere desire to aid vital policy discussions on how to improve the lives of everyday Americans. As such, the President and we are disbanding the Forum. Job creation and supporting an inclusive pro-growth agenda remain vitally important to the progress of our country. As Americans, we are all united in our desire to see our country succeed." --President's Strategic and Policy Forum

Time to get serious about Healthcare Reform. Forget about AHCA. It was well intentioned but mortally flawed.

True and successful leadership will focus on the business of serving as well as the business of thriving . We can't step out of the "patients first" lane nor forget our multicultural CCF family. I appreciate your respectful response to this matter

As stated above, Dr. Cosgrove is "deeply committed to improving healthcare for all Americans" and it is the collective belief of the CEO's of the Forum that "the debate over Forum participation has become a distraction from our well-intentioned and sincere desire to aid vital policy discussions on how to improve the lives of everyday Americans". For the previous commenters to assume this implies a "position" on partisan politics by Dr. Cosgrove is mistaken. Please keep in mind that Dr. Cosgrove refused an employment offer from the 44th US President, and it would be incorrect to assign any Party politics into either that decision, or this one by the Forum. I can very much testify that Dr. Cosgrove's commitment is to the Cleveland Clinic in particular and improving healthcare overall in general.
