The State of Thoughtless-ness!

As life evolved on this planet, Human Mind also evolved with it. The evolution of Mind has produced tremendous results for us - Wherever you see there are new innovations, people are thinking beyond their current limitations & changing the way we operate on this planet. Isn't it ?

While this evolution has been beautiful, it has also been challenging. Because, on one side, a Human Mind can think a lot in positive direction, at the same time, it has a tremendous ability to think in the negative direction as well.

It is best that both sides are balanced, however, at times, we experience too many bothering thoughts (when our Mind thinks too much in the negative direction).

It gets bothered by various thoughts, like:

  1. What if I am not able to do this?
  2. What if someone from my close circle, passes away?
  3. What if we meet an accident on our upcoming road trip?
  4. What if my partner cheats on me?
  5. What if I loose all my money in stock market?

...so on & forth!

In fact, our Mind is so capable that even in the most pleasant situations, it can find something negative and just focus on negative, keeping aside all the positivity that is around!

Relatable?

To mitigate these bothering thoughts a lot of self help books have been preaching to be positive. When I read my first self help book, it laid the importance of thinking positive and being optimistic about everything around you.

Optimism surely helps - at least it generates some positive energy to focus on the task at hand, without getting too bothered with its result (because you assume that the result will be positive).

It has helped me a lot - in fact, most of my success of last 10 years, can be attributed to it.

However, if you go by the principles of life - you will notice that whenever there is something positive, there is always a negative in that very moment. Eg - A North Pole always exists for a South Pole.

In other words, even when you are positive, the negative thought also exists in that moment and it is just round the corner. Something wrong happens, your positivity comes down - immediately you will notice that your negativity has become multi-fold.

The negativity which was suppressed for a long time, comes back with even greater force. And then you again try to be positive (takes ages) and then slowly negativity comes down.

At the end of the day, you operate like a pendulum - One moment here & one moment there!

Isn't it?

So the question arises - "What is the ultimate way to overcome all the bothering thoughts that we experience? Is there a way or we will continue to be a pendulum throughout our lives?"

Good news is that there exists a way - something which I experienced few years back!

Starting 2018, I became very regular in my Meditation practice. There was not even a single day when I would miss it - doesn't matter if I am ill or someone in family is not well or I have to travel for work, I practice Meditation every single day!

With this regular practice, I reached a state of "Thoughtless-ness"

It's a state where you don't experience much thoughts throughout the day - thoughts come only when you need them for accomplishing a work (eg. when you are brainstorming over a matter).

In this state, your experience a beautiful emptiness, which lets you focus on the task at hand, rather than worrying about what is going to happen 2 days from now.

In this state, you experience Peace of Mind like never before!

In this state, you live in reality - beyond the poles of positivity & negativity - you look at life as it is - and take your decision based on reality, not on perceptions.

In this state, you are nearest to your real self - and you live a life of truth, close to being a Buddha!

Once you reach this state, changing something about yourself, your relationships, health or wealth, becomes much more easy than what it takes today.

Because you get the mental clarity & support that you need for such transformations.

Without reaching this state any change you make will only be temporary, because you will be like a pendulum!

PS: Like anything else in life, this state is also not permanent - You have to make continuous effort to be in this state.
