Ta2heel: Winner of RiseUp’s Microsoft Egypt startup competition, receiving EGP 60,000 ($3,200) in funding, Ta2heal is an online service created to assist parents of children with autism.
Helm Egypt: Operating under the tagline “Invest in an Inclusive Egypt,” Helm (which translates into “dream”) is a non-profit organisation that focuses on increasing employment and other opportunities for people with disabilities.
Black Garlic: is Indonesia’s healthy meal kit delivery service, which aims to solve the 5 pm hunger problem by sending boxes of fresh ingredients to your doorstep, complete with easy-to-follow recipes and instructions.
Modest Forever was launched with two collections, one for modest-wear tunics and shirt dresses and another for abayas. Within months of launching the website, the brand has achieved a milestone of 800-plus orders per month.
As a technology solution, iUmrah.world, launched in June last year, is designed to connect people who want to perform umrah al badal with people in Mecca registered on the site as badals.
Nafham: Egypt’s educational woes spurred a group of entrepreneurs in 2012 to develop a platform to supplement the poor quality of school education. Today, Nafham receives more than 600,000 visitors monthly and also includes education curricula from Saudi Arabia, Syria, Kuwait and Algeria.
Nabbseh.com: To date, Nabbesh has connected almost 80,000 freelancers with 5,000 businesses in more than 100 cities around the world.

8 年Wonderful to read about such startups, especially in the edu-tech disruption, one of the important issue for these startups to get follow-up funding (for scaling) is defining (and then accessing) the total accessible market. Assume a good team, business plan (has flexibility to pivot), product market fit, etc., exist. One important element is timing of the startup's product. For example, when we launched Shekra, world's first Islamic crowd sourcing platform in Egypt, it was during Arab Spring time period. Adnan, lets speak.
