#startuplife
As I look back on our first year in business and think about how much blood, sweat and time my Mavericks have put into this company. Many have already come and gone, but a few have stuck through the good, the bad and the ugly and those few are the ones who made all the difference. Those few are the Mavericks. Our last twelve months have been nothing short of amazing. Starting a company may be one of the hardest things I've ever done. There are no paths of least resistance and no free handouts. Everything from the ground up, has cost us something. Time with our loved ones, lost wages and stress, long days and nights, the fear of going in the wrong direction. The fear of failure. All that aside, the long term gain of experience is priceless. We have achieved significant milestones and our accountants are saying we are one of the fastest growing startups they have ever seen. Maverick Drone Systems has moved into new offices as of 9/01/2015 and we couldn't be happier with the setup and we are blessed to be in the old pastoral offices of River Valley Church. We have succeeded in distribution, professional services, financing, insurance, and consulting. We have a business model that is sustainable. We have a team that sees the vision and has grown tremendously over the last year and I couldn't be more proud of these guys. As we progress towards the future, we are hiring and set to finish this year strong.
As we look back on the first day in September that reflects the American Labor Movement and those who have stood the test of time climbing the ladder, taking risks, starting from zero, staying strong when all seemed to be failing, showed up, rose from the ashes, to those that make america great again, to the Mavericks. I say thank you.
I will finish with a quote from 300: Rise of an Empire
My brothers. Steady your heart. Look deep into your souls. For your mettle is to be tested this day. If in the heat of battle you need a reason to fight on, you need only to look at the man who fights at your side. This is the why of battle. This is the brotherhood of men in arms. An unbreakable bond made stronger by the crucible of combat. You will never be closer than with those who you shed your blood with. For there is no nobler cause than to fight for those who will lay down their life for you. So you fight strong today. You fight for your brothers. Fight for your families. Most of all you fight for America.
