I got the chance to speak with Daniel Emaasit, co-founder of Logistify AI, about what he’s working on at his startup, and any advice he has for emerging entrepreneurs.

Logistify AI is a technology company providing on-demand warehousing and fulfillment to businesses of all sizes in emerging markets. Their mission is to help forward-thinking businesses grow beyond their physical location. They do this by providing flexible warehousing, and fast & affordable delivery of their inventory to their customers. They're building the first Operating System for Amazon-like warehousing & fulfillment in emerging markets.

Their main headquarters are in Kampala (Uganda) with regional offices in Nairobi (Kenya) and Tallinn (Estonia).

Startup Spotlight: Logistify AI

Problem: Delivery speeds & costs to the 20 million e-commerce consumers & 1000s of brick-and-mortar stores throughout Africa are frustrating obstacles. Speeds are slow and costs are high because fast & affordable delivery requires well-placed fulfillment centers spanning each country, which African countries lack.

Market: We help farmers, manufacturers, retailers, suppliers, and distributors to find flexible warehousing and fulfillment for their inventory.

Solution: Amazon-like fulfillment requires a network of well-placed fulfillment centers. So we built an "Airbnb" for warehousing to get a warehouse within 20 miles of every consumer & brick-and-mortar store and a fulfillment platform to offer pick, pack & shipping services.

Team: I am an AI researcher & Data scientist and cofounded Logistify AI with my brother, Tobias Tukei, a professional logistics and supply chain manager in East Africa.

Recent Success:

Emaasit: Onboarding warehouse partners onto our marketplace has been a success because we understand their problem as warehouse owners ourselves. 

Recent Struggle:

Emaasit: Narrowing down who our early adopter is from the demand side of our marketplace. We're getting demand across several verticals.

Founder Advice:

Emaasit: Tech entrepreneurship is a long and challenging journey but its worthwhile. Don't give up easily.
