A Startup Shit Story
I started my business because I know my shit
All my friends and family kept saying "you can do this shit'
I hired staff telling them our culture is 'we give a shit'
I felt like I really had my shit together
Then the shit hit the fan
Covid came and everybody lost their shit
I transitioned from knowing my shit to looking like shit
People who I thought were my friend turned out to be total pieces of shit
I looked in the mirror and said to myself 'this shit is getting real'
So I did what any passionate startup founder does. I made a plan on how I'm going to kick the shit out of this situation
I focussed on the pieces of shit, massive shits and total shits that have ever hurt me and channelled that energy in to sales
I would make 100 calls per day just to hear people say 'I don't have time for this shit'
I trusted my staff more to 'own their shit' and together we will get out of this situation
2 years later and I'm in a better place and I've sorted my shit out
So the moral of my story is that:
Somedays you will feel like shit
Somedays people will tell you that you are shit
But
Don't give a shit what anybody thinks because you always have been and always will be
The shit
