Startup Marketing Foundation Work Part 3
Congrats! You made it to the Startup Marketing Foundation – Part 3. In case you’re new to our site, Fortune 4 Women is a Boulder based company that helps women free their creativity and pursue financial freedom. Our average customers are moms between the ages of 30-50, are creative, self-aware, inspiring, earth lovers that are hungry to pursue their passions in life (personally and professionally).
We want you to know that the information in this 3-part article is coming from a genuine place. We have over 25+ years of combined entrepreneurial experience, starting and owning several successful businesses. In a nut shell, we are an inspiring network of women that is evolving, healing and co-creating together.
As long time entrepreneurs over the years we have seen some drastic changes in how people are doing business. Some choose to stick to the “old fashioned” way of starting and running a business because it’s familiar and comfortable. Others are eager to learn the latest methods because they realize that the older ways of growing a business isn’t serving them as well as the newer methodology or they are simply young and it’s all they know. Whatever direction you decide to go is totally up to you. We are not here to tell you what to do.
Your work is to discover your work and then with all your heart to give yourself to it. ~Buddha~
Believe it or not there is much more planning and preparation required to achieve long-term results in today’s business world. Therefore, it’s going to be extremely beneficial for you to trust someone to help you get clear so that you can chart a course and comfortably maneuver your way there. We hope that Fortune 4 Women can be that “someone”.
STARTUP MARKETING FOUNDATION – PART 3

- Unique content is “Queen”, so create it and SEO it!
- Don’t be everything to everyone in the start.
- Know what you’re doing! Focus, Focus, Focus!
- Get all of your Social Media Channels up and running and a Newsletter dialed!
- Scientifically target your audience!
- Create a 90-120 day launch plan.
- Create an editorial calendar – prevent going radio silent.
- Constantly refine your strategy & goals
Getting on the radar takes work! Know who is writing or reporting about things in your industry and introduce yourself. Media people are a great ally! When the time is right you can be a great resource for them.
Try not to give your “secret sauce” to everyone. You can talk to people without telling them everything. Soft introductions work really well and can allow you to get another persons perspective on your idea. If you haven’t decided on your business entity this would be a good time to nail that down along with any potential co-founders or partners.
Keep your personal Facebook page private! Facebook has a way that you can create lists of people to feed specific content to and we highly suggest that you learn how to do this. We will be teaching a workshop on this specific topic so make sure you sign up for our newsletter to stay in the loop.
As always, there is much more to do and learn when starting and growing a business in today’s world. This video interview at Harvard i-Lab with Kate Castle and Jodi-Tatiana Charles goes over startup marketing foundation steps and is well worth the watch. There are some great resources at the end of the video that we highly recommend you tap into as well.
Don’t forget to share this post if you find it to be of value to someone in your circle.
