Startup Guide by M.Nabeel

Hello everyone!

How are you? My name is Muhammad Nabeel.

As you all know, I have been running EDVON Robotics since 2016.

Obviously, the main object of starting Edvon Robotics is to bring students towards skill-based learning and activity-based learning right from their early ages in Pakistan.

I started Edvon Robotics in 2016.

I dropped my Ph.D. from Germany and came back to Pakistan.

Started from very basic/scratch to 1 client, 2 clients, and then hundred of clients. Because we were a startup that's why we don't have much finance. To save money we could not afford an office space. So, we have been a part of almost all incubation centers in Pakistan e.g. Plan 9, Nest i/o, NIC Karachi, NIC Islamabad, or ICCBS.

Alhamdulillah, we have participated in the International accelerators programs google funded as well as YC’s Startup School program physically in the US.

In these five years, we have learned a lot about startups, how to raise funding on the valuation of millions of dollars.

I have learned so many things. In between this journey I have been thinking for a long time about making videos for fellow and new startup founders to guide them and to share my experience so that they should not repeat the same mistakes that I have made.

The purpose of sharing my story/experience is that no other startup would make the same mistakes that I did in the past and he/she can achieve in three or two years rather than five years.

This was the main motivation. I thought about it many times but due to laziness, I did not start. But, in the back of my mind, things were stopping me like people would start criticizing me that being a new startup founder I am behaving like a professional by making and sharing videos. I have been thinking about sharing my experiences for the last two to four months.

I am not saying that I am an expert or I have so much knowledge of this domain.

Hence I wanted to record the experiences I had related to startups for those newly launching their startups. So at least they don't make the same mistakes that I made.

I know so many founders who started with me and are performing well now. I will try to invite them and also share their experiences for your guidance. My long-term plan is to guide you about legal issues. So many startups don't know about company registrations, filing a tax return and reasons and benefits to do this, the advantages of company registering etc.

Many startups don't know about legal matters. I have planned to make a series focusing on legal matters.

How to make a product and position yourself.

In how much time should I start working on an idea for a startup or is there any method to understand whether the idea is applicable for Pakistan or not?

There are some products that work in the US but not in Pakistan because of many reasons. Which are manufacturing issues, different mentality issues, etc.

Nowadays startups don't market. They think that investing in marketing is a huge expense. It could be a good series on how to do marketing, effectively utilize social media, long-term planning, social media marketing, and other marketing perspectives.

An important series would be how to make a pitch deck, How to make a financial model, and five-year projection to convenience the investor to get investment.

I am planning to share my personal experience and learning around the main topics of startups for those people who are starting and those who have started for two or three years.

Another plan is obviously, I am from the robotics and education field. I have so much material related to this so I am planning to guide you.

Likewise app development in a specific field, or things related to the medical field or agricultural field.

The plan is to invite the founders of different sectors to share their experience, journey, and their experiences, dos, and don'ts in the startups.

The main motivation for not procrastinating is that life is unpredictable during this pandemic. I am hearing bad news every other day.

I was thinking about the topic so I decided to make this video and post it.

I will ask in this video about the issues because I have a Facebook audience that is related to different startup cultures. Comment below your issues priority wise, then I will discuss the topic in which most people are facing problems.

I will further execute the program accordingly. For example, it could happen that I am not familiar with the topic with the most recommendations. Then I will invite the expert who will share his insight directly.

I will try not to share any information that misguides you in the long term.

So thank you very much for watching this long video.

Hopefully, it will be fruitful for you

Comment below your questions and suggestions.
