FinTech Startup CEO ?? for Executive Assistant!
Salaam & Peace all.?I’m a start-up founder and also the director of a pretty cool group of companies that are working together to create some socially impactful and of course financially viable companies.?We are working on some really?exciting stuff in the FinTech, Real Estate & Digital Marketing spaces.?We have spent the last 24 months to get to where we are today and are now ramping up for big plans in 2022 (Ramadan) and have some great momentum.?Ever heard the saying..?
“Experience is the best teacher, but the tuition is high.”
Well if you are the type of person that is looking to learn from other peoples experiences to offset that tuition then this would be an ideal situation for you. You will def. be learning about the world of FinTech, Compliance, Real Estate and Digital Marketing on a regular basis.
One of the problems I’m struggling with right now, especially as a first time CEO to a FinTech startup, is making sure I am using my time in the best possible way while trying to keep up to date and be aware of trends in a digital world that is constantly evolving, and that’s why I’d like to hire you.
I have always been a one man shop asking for assistance when needed but as things have progressed well beyond the need for just one person I am now looking to get out of my comfort zone and find a likeminded person with a mix of that New York City Hustle and Silicon Valley Tech Savvy in an executive assistant.?
I used to think an executive assistant was too?posh for a startup CEO, but as I’ve progressed and evolved in the past years I have discovered a very different reality: you help make sure the trains run on time. You also help me offload administrative work that is not consistent in volume — and when it spikes I don’t sleep, and that’s not good for anyone (great examples include research and due diligence, process planning, planning marketing strategies, etc.)
HOW THE ROLE WORKS:
I need someone to partner with, who can be fully trusted with helping manage day to day operations, admin work, FinTech & Real Estate research as well as be able to see opportunities I may not be aware of in our space… someone with a deep desire to solve problems, build things and leave a positive impact on the world.
Compensation will be based on experience and I am open to working out something more equitable for the right person such as a stake in the company because I know you will work and help carry the burdens of running a start-up while learning and growing with us.?I work very hard on the projects I take on and am constantly thinking outside the box to find the best solutions to any problem as well as tap into my network to look for opportunities for future growth - it is no doubt a full time job to say the least.
I need you to be in the same NYC / Sillicon Valley mindset as I am in during the hours I work. At times this may require you to be in the office when I’m in the office, relieving me of administrative work so that I can focus on responsibilities that come with leading the company.?However I do see this as becoming a mostly remote position (if you feel you can be as productive from home).?
Together, we will navigate a time of incredible growth for the business as well as a great deal of personal growth for both of us. It’s going to be a rollercoaster ride.
SOME OF THE THINGS YOU WILL DO:
I am doing many new things now that I wasn’t doing a year ago, so I imagine your role might evolve as well. Here are some things I know I would like to entrust you with managing right away:
WHAT I’M LIKE TO WORK WITH:
I am pretty open and down to earth, at least day-to-day. Sometimes I may come off as uncaring while under stressful situations, but once we’ve worked together for a few weeks I’m sure you’ll see that I care, possibly too much.
I like to give direct feedback, I will tell you what could be better and I will also tell you what is good. I won’t yell or swear, but I will be brutally honest. If this makes you uncomfortable you’re not going to be happy, so you shouldn’t work for me (I mean, I don’t want to make you unhappy!). If this feels like something you’d prefer, then we’ll probably get along.
I am not interested in doing anything not directly connected to the goals of the company. You will discover very quickly what I think is important and what I think can be ignored. I will be pretty open with you about things I think are worth our attention, and things that aren’t. For Example - I get invited to lots of events (pre covid of course) and also get requests for advice on start-ups from many people but generally try and be dismissive because if I say yes to everyone then it takes me away from my own personal responsibilities… sometimes I find it hard to say “no” because I genuinely do care and enjoy helping others so that is where you may have to step in to give me your unfiltered opinion.?
